Taylor: Weird Friction – Why is it so hard for charities to receive IRA money left over from estates?
Monday is Federal Tax Day – so late this year! – and now is a good time to review charitable giving practices. In particular, I want to dig into a strange friction in charitable giving that I learned recently that is silently plaguing the philanthropic world.
I say silently because the fundraisers I’ve spoken to are nice people who don’t want to embarrass financial institutions that give them costly and time-consuming headaches.
