Neon Legal is a law firm, but it is not traditional.

Principals Sarah Galbally and Shannon Landers understand that companies and internal teams often need a different option than traditional law firm advice. Thus, they offer a more dynamic and flexible ‘freelance’ general counsel service to provide the assistance of high quality lawyers.

Sarah Galbally, from the high caliber legal family, has over 15 years of practice experience and Shannon Landers over 10 years of experience, in both corporate and commercial law, and have joined their forces to help companies navigate the law with a new strategy. and practical approach to legal services.

Sarah’s legal roots were in commercial and corporate law, media law, sports law, commercial law and litigation where she worked for a boutique firm in Melbourne and represented celebrities and sports leagues , as well as a variety of organizations.

This led her to a commercial role as Managing Director of St Kilda Football Club, then to senior legal management positions for advertising and legal marketing at Toyota, then as National Solicitor for Southern Cross Austero, Australia’s largest publicly listed entertainment company.

Sarah has handled all things legal for Fox FM and Triple M, and recently returned to private practice representing organizations large and small, from technology and software organizations to AFL football clubs and a variety of Australian brands.

It was there that Sarah and Shannon first crossed paths, when Shannon ran the legal department of global fashion retailer Cotton On Group.

Shannon initially worked in law firms in Melbourne and Geelong in commercial and business law before joining Cotton On, where she was ultimately responsible for legal affairs, employee relations and business risk in more than 20 countries.

Shannon’s experience is diverse, her skills allow her to speak at numerous legal industry events in Melbourne and Sydney, and she is sought after by many major retailers and charities for corporate and commercial advice and board positions.

Occasionally, Shannon would ask Sarah to work with her on legal projects and deals, and what started as a professional relationship quickly turned into a friendship.

During a ladies’ lunch, Sarah and Shannon started talking about how lawyers support businesses and the possibility of providing brilliant, energetic, dynamic and affordable legal support, and challenging the traditional model that was often not tailored to customer needs – and too expensive.

Sarah and Shannon then had endless discussions about how they could mentor small businesses and support start-ups and side businesses with commercially savvy and pragmatic growth, while balancing their risk profile and budget, and Neon Legal was born.

Pandemic change has opened people’s eyes to diversifying their sources of income and investing more time in passion projects, enter Sarah and Shannon who have extensive experience navigating between small and large businesses .

Neon Legal operates with an entrepreneurial spirit, allowing Sarah and Shannon to be as flexible as possible in their service offerings and fee structures.

Neon Legal’s client list includes both medium to large public and private clients, where Sarah and Shannon can operate as independent general counsel.

This is an outsourced legal management service for companies that need legal support, but do not need legal counsel as an employee and want a flexible alternative to a law firm. of lawyers who can also respect their budget.

This can be done on retainer or by subscription and businesses benefit from the protection and certainty of being able to call someone who is experienced and knowledgeable about their business when they need legal assistance.

Neon Legal will soon launch Neon Business Essentials which will help clients bundle flat rate legal services based on their needs, much like ordering a menu, so watch this space.
