A Srinagar lawyer turned entrepreneur has set a shining example for aspiring women entrepreneurs and become an inspiration to others. Hina Chowdhary transitioned into entrepreneurship after starting her own fashion and clothing company ‘Adore’. She aims to carve out a place for herself in the women’s fashion sector.

Two years ago, Hina launched ‘Adore’ in Rajbagh Srinagar and now she is ready to launch an exclusive ‘Nail Bar’ the next Eid-ul-Fitr.

The young entrepreneur said she started her career as an activist but always had a penchant for business due to her family background.

While telling her story of becoming a successful entrepreneur, Hina said there is no shortcut to success other than hard work and dedication.

“I come from a family that has been in business for generations. From childhood, I wanted to start my own business,” she said.

In 2020, Hina entered the fashion industry through her entrepreneurial journey. “As you grow and have to get people to work with you, you inevitably become the captain of the ship,” she said.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Hina started the “Adore” business in 2020 and worked hard to carve out a place for herself.

Hina said “Adore” brings change by excluding societal norms and empowering women. She said Adore’s USP is that “we provide luxury clothing for women and girls at reasonable prices.”

“In other words, it is a luxury within everyone’s reach and we are getting a positive response from our customers across Kashmir,” Hina said.

She said they also have a “Do it Yourself” customization counter, where customers can participate in designing their outfits. “Our goal is to design accessible and affordable clothing for all women.”

“At ‘Adore’, we are good listeners and spend quality time with customers to create clothes that match their ideas and personality,” she said.

Hina said that when there is honesty and commitment in any business, then Allah Almighty helps in business expansion. “Adore will not compromise on its quality and products.”

The company now offers employment opportunities to 13 people who now manage the various work areas of the store.

Sakeena, who has worked as a manager at ‘Adore’ since 2020, hopes their business will grow during the upcoming wedding season in the Valley.

Hina ensures that she is easily and equitably accessible to all employees and customers.

Regarding future plans, she said that they will launch an exclusive “Nail Bar” on Eid-ul-Fitr which will provide nail extensions, nail art and all kinds of professional services by experts.

In her message to young women entrepreneurs in Kashmir, she said she believed in always stepping forward and working hard to achieve your dream. They should never get discouraged and come out of a patriarchal mindset.

“Young people should come forward to become self-reliant and create employment opportunities for others. This way we can become truly self-sufficient,” she added.
