Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla writes ‘exclusive’ book on COVID vaccine
Greek Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Dr Albert Bourla is writing “an exclusive, first-hand, behind-the-scenes story” of how Pfizer ran to create the first Covid-19 vaccine.
Dr Bourla has reached an agreement with Harper Company, a brand of HarperCollins Publishers, to write a book about the vaccine maker’s “nine-month run to make the impossible possible.”
“I share the story of our moonshot – the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned and the core values that made it happen – in the hope that it may inspire and inform your own moonshot,” anyway, ”he said in a statement.
“Harper Business is honored to publish this historic book – with an overview of the scientific, political and organizational challenges that Dr Bourla and his team faced in bringing the vaccine to market,” said Hollis Heimbouch, editor at Harper Business.
As Dr Bourla points out, Pfizer’s success was not due to luck; it was because of a preparation guided by four simple values: courage, excellence, fairness and joy.
The book, “ Moonshot: Inside Pfizer’s Nine-Month Race to Make the Impossible Possible ”, will be released on November 9, 2021
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Greek CEO has expressed his intention to have the proceeds from the book donated to charity.
