Today, Ruston Barrowes, a local family man, sat down with Surae to discuss his new children’s book. They linked the author of children’s books to the author of children’s books about their newly published books.

Johnny Shrinks Saves the Day is the first in the “Johnny Shrinks” series. It’s about a boy named Johnny who has a special ability to shrink and fit into spaces that he normally couldn’t. In this book, his mother’s car breaks down so he narrows down to get into the car to see what’s wrong. While trying to solve the problem, he meets several different people. One of them is the band that plays the music from the radio. He takes us on a tour of all his encounters in the car. The main message he would like to share is that everyone matters. Everyone is loved and cared and we need to care for each other.

Barrowes explains that the book is aimed at a wide range of children between the ages of 3 and 12. He has seven children and they all love him! You will want to be on the lookout for other books in the series to publish. It is available on Amazon, Marissa’s Books, Frost’s Books, and from Teton Toys in Lehi.

Since its release, the book has received awards in 2 different categories at American Book Fest in 2019. Barrowes is eager to release the rest of his series but is in fact looking for a new publisher. He can be contacted via [email protected]
