Montell Watson of Movement Mortgage to Speak at HousingWire Annual Meeting on October 8
Call it what you want – a disruption, a revolution, a transformation or maybe a thorn in the side, there’s no denying that the pandemic has rocked the housing industry across all its sectors. The way companies adapt and pivot while fostering the growth of their teammates may very well decide who will be on the good and the bad side of the story once the gloves – and masks – are removed.
That’s why we invited Montell Watson, Director of Corporate Strategy at Motion mortgage, to talk to our HousingWire Annual event on October 8, discussing how standing up for a team that businesses can be proud of in times of distress lays the foundation for long-term success.
Watson will be joined by Kenon Chen, Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy at Clear capital, Trina scott, head of diversity at Rock ventures and Adam Constantine, CEO and owner of ACE Creations, on the panel entitled: Business strategy during social upheaval.
Watson began his mortgage origination career in 2008 at Wells fargo and RBC Bank – possibly in transition to an investment advisory role at TD Ameritrade where he was a regular member of the Presidents Club. At TD Ameritrade, Watson led sales teams and helped deploy strategic technology and business strategies in the region.
During his four years with Movement, Watson helped lead and implement several business initiatives within the organization, including the Movement Direct Consumer Channel and the Black American Homeownership Initiative.
Watson currently sits on the Board of Directors of Movement Schools and is passionate about providing housing for all.
HW Annual will feature other housing virtuosos, including Cindy waldron, vice president of research and analysis at Freddie Mac, Doug Duncan, Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist at Fannie mae, Ed DeMarco, President of the Housing Policy Council, Laurie Goodman, vice-president of the Urban Institute, Robert Dietz, Chief Economist at the National Association of Home Builders, and much more.
We’re focusing this virtual event on The Great Acceleration – the accelerating disruption in the business landscape, disrupting traditional strategies and programs for people living in housing. We have sessions on the future of regulation, increasing homeownership in underserved communities, green housing, capital market appetite by channel and much more.
