KENNEWICK, Wash .– The Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries (FOL) are hosting one of their biannual book auctions this week. All proceeds will go to Mid-Columbia Libraries (MCL) and their community programs.

The book sale is located at MCL Kennewick Branch at 1620, rue Union Sud. Most books sell for under $ 1, but high-end audiobooks and hardcover books can be more expensive.

FOL collected books from the community, as well as books from the library. All books are lightly used and in good condition. New books are brought in throughout the day, which means the selection varies from day to day.

“We really encourage the library system here, they are wonderful! Says FOL President Fernie Coe. “They have wonderful children’s programs, and the more we can earn, the more we can support them and the more they can give back to the community.

The MCL organizes various community programs throughout the year. FOL helps fund authored book conferences, reptile exhibitions and the summer reading program.

Community members supported the book drive, filtering through the sale throughout the day to support young readers.

Almost all kinds of books are available: children’s books, fiction, science fiction, graphic novels, non-fiction, reference books, audiobooks, etc. Hundreds of titles are available for purchase, with more being added daily.

The book sale is open every day until November 6:

  • Monday to Friday, from 10am to 18pm
  • Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
