Marion Cultural Alliance is working on a new illustrated book
OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – This week, the Marion Cultural Alliance announced that it is working on a new book of photographs, which will showcase the arts, history, culture and nature of Marion County.
The book is called ‘Ocala-The Art of Community’.
The book will consist of different stories from sponsors, companies, artists and other members of the community.
A focus group will also be formed to take community tours and decide which aspects of North Central Florida would be best to include in the post.
“We’ll have a lot of people involved in the creative development of this one, the photography, a local artist on the cover, and then all kinds of businesses and organizations featured throughout,” said Margaret Spontak, who heads the book project.
But it will take some time. The book is expected to be published next year.
“We love the Asheville model,” Spontak said pointing to a similar style book, “This particular book, and they’re doing books for Albuquerque and St. Pete, and they’re doing hundreds of books all over the United States. , but that I think will be a good role model for us, ”she said.
The book will be published by Riverbend Books of Georgia.
