A free outdoor concert is offered Saturday on the newly renovated Palmer Street in Harvard Square by Club Passim, the Harvard Square Business Association and the Folk New England organization.

Sadie Gustafson-Zook and Cambridge-based Boston-based guitarist, banjoist and songwriter, raised in Indiana (and a graduate of the Longy School of Music), will perform in front of Club Passim, 47 Palmer St., where there will be Busa Farms roasted chestnuts prepared by El Jefe Taqueria and HSBA staff. Chairs will be set up, but people are reminded to bring blankets for a day that is not expected to exceed 53 degrees.

The event is part of the 15th annual Folk Music Month in Harvard Square, an email from the trade association said Monday.

“The square has long been an epicenter of critical thinking and of social and political reform, and nowhere has it been more [potent] that in the folk music scene that emerged in the late 1950s at Club 47, ”said the email from HSBA Executive Director Denise Jillson.

The free concert runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Club Passim is planning a paid indoor concert from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday: an intimate performance by Susan Werner, a singer-songwriter celebrating the release of her 16th recording, “NOLA” on the New theme. Orleans. King Margo opens. Tickets are $ 35 available here.
